What is Grassroots Advancenment?

Many grassroots action driven by communities, academia, NGOs and Institutions, and innovators and entrepreneurs are prone to failures due to lack of identification of problems and being impaired by a complex set of underlying socio-cultural, economic, regulatory and legal issues.

For us the ‘Grassroots’ is the ecosystem where the action or the revolution takes place – village, block, taluk, city, state or even a college or a residential colony – comprising of actionable stakeholders. An Advancement is a program which includes a series of action in the form of activities, initiatives and innovations to achieve the goal led by communities, students, innovators and entrepreneurs. Some examples are building solar-powered entrepreneurship skill centre at a block and taluk level for women (SHGs) for recycling textile waste into garments for profitable exports; crop planting program to increase groundwater through the use of IoT and AI models at a district level; incubation centres for building agribusinesses at the villages; educational programs for augmenting fundamental research skills of economics students at a college; a mobile application for improving health response for women at a hospital; or, a youth-led company designing waste management system for a residential colony.

The Grassroots Advancement Programs by gF-India is to enable and support the grassroots actors through a range of services to build sustainable solutions based on robust evidence thorough research studies, applying design thinking into the process, and enhancing capacities of all stakeholders who are integral and essential to solving the problem.
